I am Kanjoh Joseph Tamfu, the 4th out of 7 Children to Pa Ta-Shey Vincent Kanjoh (RIP) & Ma Ita Gukeh from the Holy Family Parish of Tabenken where I was baptized given the First Holy Communion on the 4th of August 1999.
Later Confirmed on the 3rd of March 2001 by Mgr Peter Watson, mhm, the then Vicar General for the Diocese of Kumbo, Cameroon. Then I became an Altar boy while nursing and nurturing my zeal of becoming a priest one day, a thing which was never accepted by my Dad for more than 12 years.
I enrolled and completed my elementary school at the Catholic Primary School Tabenken (1996-2003) and proceeded to the Government High School Tabenken from 2004-2009 where I obtained my Ordinary Level Certificate.
Two years later, I sat for the Advanced Level national exams and obtained the GCE A/L from the June 2011 session in GBHS Atiela Nkwen Mile 4 Bamenda.
After my A/Levels Certificate, I spent another year struggling to convince my Father to give me a chance to have a taste of the seminary life and to discern God's call.
One evening, my Dad accepted my cry, later on the Vacation Director of the Mill Hills sent me to go see what the missionaries do in the field. I was sent to a "white man" by name Christopher Hancock on the 25th of May 2012.
In September 2012, I was admitted alongside 9 others for the Basic Formation Program (BFP) of the Mill Hill Missionary way of life.
I took the Temporary Oath of commitment with the Mill Hills on the 2nd of June 2016, then was sent on MEP (Missionary Experience Program) from the 3rd of August 2016-April 2018 in Nairobi Kenya.
During those two years, I learned to participate in God's mission through building, sustaining and encouraging SCCs/BECs with a special attachment to the youth ministry at the service of the sick and the elderly.
From the 7th of August 2018- the 4th May 2022 I did my Theological Studies with special focus on Pastoral Theology. With the zeal to love and to Serve, I made my Perpetual Oath on the 24th of September 2021, Ordained Deacon on the 25th in Nairobi.
I was then ordained a missionary Priest in my home parish in Tabenken on the 9th of July 2022 by his Lordship Bishop George Nkuo of the Diocese of Kumbo in Cameroon. It was made known as from that day that I was appointed for mission to the UK.
In thanksgiving, I served the Tabenken people for two months and was given a temporal appointment in our newly created parish in the Archdiocese of Douala while waiting for my UK Visa to be ready till the end of last month.
Now I am here, my time shall be for you, my talents at your service but I (like others), have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God not of us. (Cf. 2Cor.4:7). Thus my ability or capability may never be enough but I promise you my total availability.
