“Then the people rejoiced becuase there had given willingly, for with single mind they had offered freely to the Lord."
1 Chronicles 29:9
Our Lady of Mercy Parish is blessed by the generosity of its parishioners. The parish uses the financial resources parishioners give to provide the necessities for the celebration of the liturgy, to heat, light and maintain our churches, halls and properties and to support the clergy.
The parishioners’ generosity also supports our various outreaches. Through offerings to Open House and St Anthony’s Bread we provide
food for the homeless and needy and sleeping bags for rough sleepers.
All parishioners have the obligation, insofar as they are able, to support financially the parish. Every year the parish publishes its accounts for everyone to inspect and every month we publish a summary of the previous month’s income so that parishioners can see how much money has
come in and where it has been spent. The Parish Stewardship Committee also scrutinises the parish finances at every meeting.
