The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a Catholic devotion to the Divine Mercy, based on the Christological apparitions of Jesus reported by Faustina Kowalska, known as "the Apostle of Mercy". The Chaplet can be prayed at any time, but it is most often prayed at 3pm each day or as part of the Divine Mercy Novena.
The Chaplet is prayed using a standard rosary. On the five large beads of the rosary, the following prayers are said:
Our Father
Hail Mary
I believe in God
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
On the ten small beads of the rosary, the following prayer is said:
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in You!
The Chaplet is concluded with the following prayers:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
O Jesus, I trust in You!
The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a powerful prayer that can be used to ask for God's mercy for ourselves and for the world. It is a reminder of God's infinite love and compassion, and it can help us to grow in our own mercy towards others.
