The Easter Vigil is the most sacred night of the Christian year, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is during this beautiful and solemn liturgy that our parish joyfully welcomes new members into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Christian Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.
As the church is enveloped in darkness, we begin the Vigil with the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolising Christ as the light of the world. We then listen to the story of our salvation history through the Scriptures, leading up to the triumphant proclamation of Christ’s resurrection.
In this night of profound grace, those who have been preparing through the RCIA programme will receive the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation and partake in the Holy Eucharist for the first time. It is a moment of joy, transformation, and renewal, not just for those being initiated but for the entire parish community.
