Welcome to the Catholic Chaplaincy to the University of Sunderland.
The Chaplaincy is a student support network and a community of people from all over the world who come together to explore and celebrate their Catholic faith.
The coronavirus restrictions mean that a lot of our activities are taking place online for the moment. If you want to know what's going on join our WhatsApp group by sending an email to Mary at sunderland.chaplaincy@rcdhn.org.uk.
We're on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or you can email sunderland.chaplaincy@rcdhn.org.uk
Our Chaplaincy provides a welcoming, relaxed and safe environment for students to meet, socialise and discover more about the Catholic faith and how to live to live as a Catholic Christian in the world.
Student or staff, whether Catholic or not, we are we here to help you in your journey. Fr Christopher and Mary, our friendly chaplains are always ready and willing to listen and talk with you and help you access the support you need.
We have a full program of events, however, right now the coronavirus restrictions mean that we are meeting online and with a reduced program.
The Upper Room is your student lounge, perfectly located between St Peter's Campus and the city centre. It's a place to relax, socialise, cook food and study.
Take a break from your busy university schedule and life in general, make some toast, play pool, or catch up with some work. We've got comfy sofas, free tea and coffee and free WIFI.
The Upper Room is located above the Parish Centre, next to St Mary's Chruch and we're open weekdays from 9am-5pm.
The Upper Room is currently closed because of Covid-19 restrictions. We're looking forward to reopening it and welcoming you back as soon as the regulations allow.
