As we draw closer to the start of our Bible 365 journey, it’s time to think about how you’ll incorporate your daily Bible reading into your routine. Developing a consistent habit is key to making the most of this experience, so prepare now to set yourself up for success.
Consistency is essential when it comes to reading the Bible in a year. By setting aside a specific time each day for your reading, you’ll create a habit that becomes a natural part of your daily life. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during a quiet moment in the afternoon, or before bed, finding a time that works for you is crucial.
Choose a Time: Pick a time of day that you can consistently dedicate to reading. It doesn’t have to be long—15–20 minutes a day should be plenty of time as the readings aren’t too long.
Create a Sacred Space: Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can focus on your reading without distractions. This could be a corner of a room, a favourite chair, or even a spot outdoors. Perhaps you can light a candle or display an icon or other holy picture to mark this place and time as your sacred space.
Start with Prayer: Begin each session by asking the Holy Spirit to guide your reading and open your heart to God’s Word. This simple practice can help you approach your reading with the right mindset.
Stay Flexible: Life can get busy, and some days may be more challenging than others. If you miss a day, don’t be discouraged—just pick up where you left off and keep going.
You’ll find the Bible 365 reading schedule here. This schedule is designed to guide you through the entire Bible in one year, breaking it down into manageable daily readings. By following this plan, you’ll cover the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, within the year.
Each day, you’ll read a few chapters that will gradually build on each other, revealing the overarching story of God’s relationship with humanity. The schedule will also help you see connections between different parts of Scripture, deepening your understanding of the Bible as a whole.
In the next email, I’ll introduce the supplementary materials that will accompany your readings each week. These resources are designed to enhance your understanding and make your journey through the Bible even more enriching.
Thank you for your commitment to this journey. I’m excited to see how God will work in our lives as we delve into His Word together.
In Christ,
Fr Christopher
